ICELAND
Iceland ‘the land of fire and ice’ is wild in all the best ways — volcanic cliffs, crashing waves, icy blue glaciers, and skies that can shift from stormy to surreal in seconds. It’s a land of elements, where nature feels raw and close. This gallery is a look at Iceland’s untamed beauty through its light, weather, and wonder.
The highlight of my first trip to Iceland. Brúarfoss Waterfall was somewhat of a hidden gem at the time. Photographed at 1:00 AM during the midnight sun, mini waterfalls of beautiful blue colour form a cascade.
The majestic Vestrahorn photographed with a with mirror-like reflection on Stokksness beach. Highlights of snow contrast perfectly against the black sand.
A panoramic shot of Hoffellsjökull glacier and surrounding mountains (near Höfn). Photographed during a pastel-soft sunset.
The rock stacks called Lóndrangar are the remains of a large volcanic crater eroded by the weather. In truth, I never intended on including this image in my portfolio but there is just something I like about it.
A classic shot of Skógafoss on Iceland’s southern coast. A special mention to my wife, Gemma (bottom right of photograph) who shares my passion for travel and has the patience of a saint when waiting for me.
